Senior Product Designer @ Amplify Education

Hello, Susan here!
I design complex systems to be intuitive, scalable, and delightful.

Currently at Amplify, I'm building data-dense reporting tools and AI-driven insights people can actually trust; when educators can navigate complexity effortlessly, they move from overwhelmed to empowered.

Where I'vebeen

  • Led design for the unified Math Suite reporting from 0-to-1, bringing core curriculum, assessment, and supplemental data into one teacher-facing picture.
  • Co-built the data visualization component library, then owned it solo after the design-system lead's departure.
  • Team lead for Sensemaking & Platform Design through May 2026; now on the newly formed ASI team.
  • Jun — Aug 2022 · impacted by layoff.
  • Launched the admin-portal entry point with a PM and one full-stack engineer, unblocking roughly a third of K-12 users from rolling out Class.
  • Redesigned chat concepts from A/B survey data, backed by six user interviews and card sorting, and proposed three new admin-portal sitemaps.
  • Built study-abroad and college-application mentorship programs, mentoring 100+ students a week through college and graduate-school applications.

What it's liketo work with me

“Susan is also collaborative and a team player. Although there were team and requirement changes throughout this past year within the Math team and Teacher reports domain, she showed her resilience by refining and adapting designs, which ensured that the team remained responsive to the ever-changing directions.”

“Susan is excellent at preparing for meetings, providing context, and considering ways to engage stakeholders in review and discussion! I really enjoyed the experience of working with Susan on the Sensemaking Layer project; during our design workshops, it was so clear that she thought critically about where to focus our group ideation, and was receptive to feedback and input. She was also so communicative about next steps and what she was working on based on prior feedback!”

“What I particularly appreciate is how Susan takes time to understand both the technical implementation requirements and product knowledge before creating her designs. She's also highly responsive to questions and feedback we leave on Figma throughout the week.”

“Susan showcased her commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. I invited Susan to Design System Academy because she shared her eagerness to learn more design knowledge. After joining the team, she quickly became a valuable member and contributed a lot to our discussion.”

“I encouraged Susan to set up a bi-weekly UX design meeting with the team to discuss and go over questions for current and future design work. She did so, and I believe it improved implementation of those designs in our tasks since our devs get clarity on implementation and functionality before they start coding it. I am convinced it saved precious developer time because questions are answered before coding, not during coding.”
